We moved to our home in 2008 and definitely knew that some changes were in store to make it ours. Rooms were painted, a covered deck added, kitchen backsplash installed, and a baby born:) The last mention, along with the economy, has put a number of home improvements on hold til now.
One of the things that we tried to address prior to our son being born was our family room ceiling. It is vaulted and the tape running over the two joints had peeled away. We wanted to paint the room, so we hired a painter to address the joints and change the room from yellow to a creamy white. Easy peasy or so we thought...... until a few months after the job was finished. The tape was not only pulling away again, but looking worse than ever! The separation was more severe and ran the full length of the joints. A few photos:
Enter plan B - covering everything up with tongue and groove boards. Paneled and beamed ceilings are everywhere and can be used in any room in the house. Whether stained or painted, they certainly bring a lot of character and "wow" to a room!
I'm excited to bring this look into our home and pick up where we left off 3 years ago! Have a fabulous weekend!
